On a very selective basis we will pursue to establish relationships with international universities, government agencies, and corporations where there is a mutual interest in collaboration. These collaborations are envisioned as offering a number of benefits for all parties.
For University collaboration the key benefits include; 1) student exchanges in both directions that enhance the students learning experience; 2) create opportunities for joint research for faculty; 3) to support each others outreach activities; and 4) create a pipeline for top master’s students that come to UMd for their PhD.
For both Corporate and Government collaboration the expectation is that we can draw upon our research and educational experience to help these partners solve specific project management problems or issues that they are facing. The solutions may include education, training, strategic planning, and research support. A number of active discussions are under way at this time. We also hope that these relationships allow us access to data for further research in project management.
